Download and activate the right edition

Start with the exact product and license channel on your purchase record. Different editions and licensing programs can use different installation and activation routes. A working activation key does not, by itself, establish your license rights.

Before installation

Back up your important files. Check the product’s operating-system and hardware requirements, device count, and any upgrade prerequisites. Confirm that the edition you plan to install matches the edition you bought. Contact support before changing an installation you rely on if you are unsure.

Windows 11

Use Microsoft’s Windows 11 download page for official installation options and requirements. In Windows 11, check Settings → System → Activation to see the installed edition and activation status. Follow Microsoft’s activation guidance for the applicable product-key or digital-license route. Do not bypass compatibility checks or use third-party activation tools.

Office, Visio, and Project

Use the instructions that match your product’s verified license channel. Office LTSC 2024 volume products use a deployment route that differs from consumer Office. Microsoft provides Office LTSC 2024 deployment instructions. Do not enter a volume-license key into a consumer redemption workflow unless the documented product instructions explicitly require it.

If activation fails

Record the exact error message, installed edition, and steps already tried. Contact support@softcomp.us with your order number. Do not post your key publicly or include it in screenshots sent outside a secure support conversation. Never share your Microsoft account password.

Keep your records

Save the purchase record and product-specific license terms. Activation, license duration, transfer rights, the seller’s guarantee, and Microsoft’s product support are separate matters.
